This just got real.

Why is it that I can drag myself out of bed at 4 am, drive on dark (even snowy or icy) roads to get to Rock N Shock Fitness, and then hustle, sweat and pant through a super-tough, high-intensity workout that would kill a mere mortal – yet I still can’t get my eating under control?!

Changing our eating – especially giving up things we love – has to be one of the hardest addictions to master. And it IS an addiction.

But not to worry. I sat down with Master Breaker Danielle this week for a heart to heart coaching session to get to the bottom of why I’m not seeing quicker results. After all, it’s been a couple of months and she knows how hard I’m working in the gym. So what gives?

RNS is not just a gym. Our workouts are not just workouts. Master Breaker Danielle is not just a personal trainer or fitness facility owner. There is something much deeper and more meaningful going on here.

At our meeting, Danielle offered me weekly personal coaching sessions. She offered to go out to eat with me once a week to show me how to order in order to stay on track with my eating. And she requested that I track everything I eat and drink in writing, then submit my written food logs to her each week.

This type of accountability and tough love is EXACTLY what I needed to get my eating on track. This week has been very different from my prior weeks! I’m not going to say it was perfect – I’m sure Master Breaker Danielle will have some coaching for me when she sees my food log – but just knowing I was going to give her my logs made me darn sure to be careful about what I put in my mouth.

She spoke with me plainly and very earnestly. She does not expect perfection – just consistency. She WANTS me to see results. She will do absolutely anything to help me reach my goals. How can I give anything less than my absolute 100% best all with support like this?!

So yeah – I’m giving it 100%. I’m logging every bite on My Fitness Pal and printing my logs for Danielle weekly. I am eating enough salads that I’m starting to actually crave salads, instead of bad stuff. I’m putting my willpower and discipline muscles into beast-mode, just like all my *physical* muscles have been working hard at RNS classes since the start of November. It’s time to see some serious weight-loss happen!

And wouldn’t you know it, I am doing it. I am losing weight. It works, it truly does. Now to keep it going and finish strong, just like in our classes at RNS!
