Superhero Day at Easton

I have a new favorite family activity for the month of August to add to my family fun "best of" list at the end of the year: Superhero Day at Easton Town Center! Easton puts on some seriously cute events for families, and this one definitely did not disappoint. It was a gorgeous sunny day when we donned our capes and superhero masks and headed to Easton to do some errands and have some fun. I got a little shopping done, picked up a few things we needed and then we headed for Fenlon Square to … [Read more...]

Welcome Hanna to Columbus

When Zoe was a wee babe, I loved Carter's clothes on her. As soon as she got old enough to make her girlie fashion preferences known, Hanna Andersson became my favorite go-to brand for the perfect combination of quality and comfort. So you can imagine my delight that our very own Easton Town Center in Columbus is now the proud home to the country's latest and greatest Hanna Andersson store! This weekend is the grand opening and I'm sure the place will be packed because there are some great … [Read more...]

A kid in a candy store

Disclosure: this chocolate fantasy is brought to you by the sparkling new See's Candies at Easton Town Center, where I attended a VIP blogger event last night. Enjoy. I know I sure did. I had the most wonderful dream last night. In it, I dreamed that I welcomed a wonderful sitter, kissed a happy child goodbye and set off gloriously alone for my favorite chocolate shop where I was set loose to sample ANYTHING I liked, got to go behind the counter and fill a fancy box with as many chocolates as … [Read more...]

First-time fun at Build-A-Bear

Disclaimer: Zoe and I were given an incredible opportunity recently to visit and experience the new Build-A-Bear Workshop at Easton Town Center in Columbus, Ohio. We built a wonderful, all bells-and-whistles-included bear in exchange for this post. Thank you again to the beary kind and generous folks at Build-A-Bear! Our poor little girl had a rough week recently. It started with a bad fever and sore throat, then the infection spread to Zoe's ear leaving her in huge amounts of pain. Then, … [Read more...]

Have you hugged your farmers market today?

I just found out that this week (August 4-10, 2013) is National Farmers Market Week. I can't think of a better reason to get out and enjoy one of my favorite things to do in summer - visit a farmer's market! Columbus is an absolute mecca for farmers markets. I love how they are all spread out on different days so you really could visit a new one each day if you wanted to. The Columbus Dispatch has a fantastic, interactive online database that enables you to find a farmers market by name, … [Read more...]

New sweet treats at Easton

My fellow sweet tooths in Columbus need look no further - Easton Town Center now has ALL the sweet treats. Whatever your sugary pleasure or dessert dream, Easton's got it as of 2013. And since I'm a self-avowed sugar monster, and I happen to work smack-dab in the middle of Easton, it's going to be a sweet, sweet summer indeed. Here's the low-down on Easton's sweet new tenants: Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams - Although Easton's always had Graeter's ice cream (in the inside part of the mall … [Read more...]

Summer’s best splash pads

Before I had Zoe, I didn't know what a splash pad was. Back when I was a kid (you know - a thousand years ago), we simply ran through the sprinkler or went to the beach or into a pool. But now that I'm a toddler mom in the marvelous midwest, I get a lot of summer splash pad time. And I love it! I do believe splash pads are the best invention ever. From a kid's perspective, it's pure unadulterated fun (until you get a water jet straight up the nose). From a parent's perspective, there's far … [Read more...]
