This just got real.

Yummy delicious salad for lunch again!

Why is it that I can drag myself out of bed at 4 am, drive on dark (even snowy or icy) roads to get to Rock N Shock Fitness, and then hustle, sweat and pant through a super-tough, high-intensity workout that would kill a mere mortal - yet I still can't get my eating under control?! Changing our eating - especially giving up things we love - has to be one of the hardest addictions to master. And it IS an addiction. But not to worry. I sat down with Master Breaker Danielle this … [Read more...]

My hair test “intolerance” results

RNS Intolerance Lab Results

One of the reasons I was most excited to sign on with Rock N Shock Fitness was the promise of an intriguing DNA hair test that would bring back customized results telling me how I stand against 600 food and nonfood items, 80 nutritional deficiencies and 24 metals. My hair sample was taken as part of my RNS testing day on 10/28 and my results were emailed to me exactly one month later, on 11/28, in the form of a gigantic 90-page document. To be honest, it was a little overwhelming - and I … [Read more...]

20% gym, 80% life

I'll look this great again in 2017!

My eating is holding me back. There, I said it. My workouts this year have been terrific. I did 21 Day Fix for a while with Autumn Calabrese and then P90X3 with Tony Horton. I switched over to running, rocked the Couch to 5K program and made some dear friends in the process. I have perfected the art of the early morning, pre-dawn, pre-work workout. I've kept myself feeling fitter and younger than I EVER would have without all these workouts. I have a lot to be proud of! But it wasn't … [Read more...]

Clean eating at a restaurant? YES!

IMG_9928

Recently I wrote about my excitement over a new salad cafe opening up in my northern Columbus suburb. Now, I'm even more pumped up because a second, even healthier restaurant has opened near me: CoreLife Eatery just off Polaris. You might be thinking, why are you even eating out at restaurants anymore - aren't you on a major, life-changing health and fitness program? Yes, I am, but for me the number one most important element of a health and fitness program is that it be sustainable over the … [Read more...]

A new freezer favorite: Mommade Foods

Mommade Foods

Disclaimer: I was generously provided samples from MomMade Foods prior to writing this post. That said, my opinions are my own and I happily spent my own money on MomMade Foods as well! Recently, Zoe and I got to attend a blogger event on behalf of Mommade Foods. We were able to meet mom and founder Heather Stouffer, learn all about her nutrition philosophy and best of all taste many of her delicious, healthy foods. Instantly, I was hooked! And that's a good thing, because I am ALWAYS on the … [Read more...]

Raising a non sugar monster

Zoebelle Eats

As you may have been able to tell from past posts, I've got a bit of a thing for sweets. It's been a lifelong battle. I know sugar is not good for me, and I try to indulge my vice in moderation, but I don't ever seem to be able to get rid of it altogether. At certain points in my life and with Herculean effort, I've been able to wean myself totally off sugar for short durations. Eventually though, I always come crawling back to it. It's a monkey on my back that I've learned to live … [Read more...]
