My little soccer player

This fall, I am not just enjoying my newfound identity as a soccer mom - I'm reveling in it! When I signed Zoe up for her first-ever team sports experience, I did not know what to expect. She's a very active, physical girl who loves to run and play - but would she like soccer? I felt like I was taking a bit of a risk signing her up for a team and getting her equipment - would the money be wasted? I hated soccer as a kid - heck, I hated all sports. I was afraid of the ball. Summer fun Wednesdays

What mom doesn't wish she could be in two places at once?! I am fortunate to have a meaningful, interesting job that I love. I am happy to be a working mom most of the time. The best gifts for kids 3+

Over the past three and a half years, we've both bought and received many gifts for Zoe. I've come to realize that the absolute best toys always have to do with building and creating. This is not just some crazy builder phase we happen to be in right now - this is time-tested and proven. Old building toys she's had for years are her absolute favorites - and new toys are instantly beloved as long as they have something to do with building, creating or inventing. This kid is definitely heading … [Read more...]

Top 10 reasons to “ride all day” at the zoo

A trip to the zoo with baby or even young toddler Zoe meant an hour or two at most of visiting the animals. Oh, how times have changed. Now, a trip to the zoo can be an almost all day endeavor and includes visiting animals, watching the animal show, petting the stingrays and and - if she's very lucky - going on some of her favorite rides. This week, for the first time, I bought us both the "Zoo it all" Ride All Day wrist bands ($9.99 each) so we could do all the rides. We had an absolute … [Read more...]
