Long before I had a beautiful baby girl of my own, I was a tiny bit obsessed with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s first baby.
You have to understand that Shiloh Jolie-Pitt was born in May 2006 which was right around when my biological clock seemed to kick on and start ticking.
I was 36 and I was starting to wonder… what else is there? I had a successful career, amazing husband, great friends and a full life. Was it greedy to think there could be even more in store for me?
Then, somewhere right around the time of Shiloh’s birth, I became obsessed with how exquisitely beautiful she was. I found myself wondering what it would be like to have my very own small, soft, pink little bebe with big blue eyes.
Of course, I knew that I probably would not have a baby that looked like Shiloh Jolie-Pitt. I mean, that kid had some exquisitely beautiful parents.
But still… I wondered what it would be like to gaze into a little face like hers and smooch her soft little round cheeks. I even had a pic of baby Shiloh as my LiveJournal user icon with the caption “Perfect.” To me, she sure looked like perfection.
Well, fast forward a couple of years and apparently I somehow manifested a Shiloh-beautiful baby of my own, because have you seen our kiddo? Not to brag, but she can give ol’ Shiloh a run for her money anyday!
Not only does Z bear a passing resemblance to Shiloh, they’ve also been through some of the same experiences like being gender nonconforming for a time during their childhoods and having famous rockstar parents. Ha! Okay, Z might not have to deal with the latter.
But I do think it’s pretty cool that both of these two blue-eyed kiddos are finding their way in the world and navigating the LGBTQIA+ landscape like champs.
I was proud to see Shiloh rocking out her dance routines recently. A part of me will always feel motherly toward her because she was a small but significant part of my own motherhood journey.
Is it odd to feel this way about a celebrity child I’ve never met? Do you have any celebrities you feel a close connection to? I’d love to hear about your celebrity crushes or obsessions in the comments below or over on Instagram or Facebook.
