Whether you’re still working from home like me, or heading into an office multiple times each week, we all need a coffee shop once in a while.
If you’re a WFH person, sometimes you just need to get out of the house – and coffee shops provide the perfect destination.
If you’re back in an office, at times you need to prolong the inevitable by giving yourself a fun little break before you head in.
I don’t even drink coffee but I love to get my chai on in the wintertime – or drink a nice iced tea if it’s warm and sunny out.
And don’t even get me started on those cute little coffee shop pastries, which can also provide a needed pick-me-up from time to time. Coffee shops truly have something for everyone.
Fortunately, there are some great coffee shops in Lewis Center – and more popping up every day it seems!
Whether you’re a diehard Starbucks fan (love my ‘bucks!) or prefer small, locally-owned cafes, this list should have something to perk you up and make your day. Enjoy!
- Starbucks OC – On 23 right out in front of the big LC Kroger is our tried-and-true Lewis Center Starbucks, aka Starbucks Olentangy Crossing or Starbucks OC. We love this place – I simply can’t stay away. The management and staff are friendly, the drive-through is our dogs’ favorite place, it’s easy to get in and out of and we just love this little shop. I have no notes – it’s perfection.
- Roosevelt Coffeehouse located inside Olentangy River Brewing Co. – This is a genius business model and I love this place. Lewis Center’s only local brewery is also a morning coffee shop and community meeting space thanks to Franklinton-based Roosevelt Coffee. If you stick around long enough, there is also a great Venezuelan food truck here at lunchtime. I don’t drink beer or coffee but I love ORBC for meetings and lunches. No drive-through but plenty of parking and both indoor and outdoor seating.
- Biggby’s Lewis Center is a tiny little coffee hut right off 23 in the Meijer parking lot. It is new, having just opened this year, and features a drive-through, cheery attitudes, specialty drinks, smoothies and baked goods. It’s pretty funny that the name has “big” in it when it’s actually so itty-bitty. I know a lot of people who love this place. I need to remember to cruise through Biggby’s next time I am doing a beverage run!
- Tim Horton’s Lewis Center is on 23 right between UDF and Biggby’s. Z and I love this Canadian chain for drive-through bagels with the cream cheese actually put on for you, unlike at nearby Panera. People swear by the coffee here and they do have chai and iced tea, all at pretty good prices. Timmy H might not be a gourmet coffee shop, but it’s nice to have a budget-friendly option on this list.
- Ethos & Co. Cafe is a brand new, community-minded coffee shop on Africa Rd. just off Lewis Center Rd. I haven’t stopped in here yet but I’ve seen people rave about the atmosphere, coffee and non-profit business model. They serve Florin coffee, smoothies and acai bowls, Johnson’s ice cream, beverages, and other breakfast & lunch menu items. Any profits are donated to rotating non-profit organizations doing great work in our city. No drive-through but lots of parking.
- Sweetwaters is a coffee and tea shop located on Lyra Drive near Condado and Kitchen Social. They offer fancy hot and cold drinks, pastries and sandwiches. This place has a cute aesthetic and always strikes me as a perfect spot for a girls’ gab session or moms’ meet-up. No drive-through and somewhat limited parking, plus I always find it a little tricky to get into or out of this parking lot.
- Crimson Cup will have a brand new Lewis Center location opening sometime in 2024. Crimson Cup LC is headed for 23 near Bibibop, across from Kroger. This popular local roaster will be a great addition to the LC coffee shop scene!
Did I miss any? Do you have another favorite local coffee shop that’s not on my list? Drop me a note in the comments below and I’ll be sure to check it out!
