It’s not every day you look up at the sky and see a 100-foot Darth Vader head floating in the evening breeze.
In fact, it probably only happens in August at the annual All Ohio Balloon Festival.
Since 1975, this unique hot air balloon festival has been held mid-August at the Union County Airport in Marysville.
There will be plenty of room for social distancing at this year’s event, taking place August 13, 14 and 15.
With a variety of eye-catching, one-of-a-kind hot air balloons, the festival captivates attendees of all ages as the enormous balloons lift off and float through the skies. Go late afternoon and stay for sunrise, when the balloons light up and glow from within – so pretty!
As one of the longest-running hot air balloon festivals in the U.S., the event draws more than 30,000 visitors from across the country every year. This year’s annual festival will feature more than 30 balloons ranging from Darth Vader and Yoda to ice-cream cones and birthday cakes.
In addition to larger-than-life, gravity-defying balloons, the festival also features skydiving, helicopter rides and live musical performances. The event’s menu includes local food vendors, concessions and food trucks.
The festival is about more than captivating balloons, fun activities and delicious food. All proceeds go directly to Hope Center in Marysville to serve less fortunate families and people in need in Union County
If you’re interested in attending the All Ohio Balloon Fest, general admission tickets are $12 in advance and kids under 10 can attend for free. Visit the All Ohio Balloon Festival online to learn more and purchase tickets.
