Star-gazing at COSI’s new planetarium

Central Ohio families now have another reason to head to COSI for fun and learning: as of winter 2014-2015, COSI boasts the largest planetarium in Ohio. Zoe and I got to experience the planetarium this week and had a wonderful time learning about the sun, moon and stars. At just $4 per person for members ($5 per person for non-members), the planetarium show is a great way to round out your day of fun at COSI. Zoe and I took in the "One World, One Sky: Big Bird's Adventure" show, aimed at the … [Read more...]

What’s November for, anyway?

Early fall in Ohio is such a beautiful time - color-changing leaves, sunny days, pumpkin patches and fun on the farm. There almost are not enough weekends to fit in all the family fun that is fall in Columbus! Over the past few weeks, we've visited Pigeon Roost Farm (not once but twice), Leeds Farm, Boo at the Zoo and more. But things are quieting down now. It's deep fall - we're into November. The fall family fun farms (say that five times fast) have closed up shop. I'm not ready to start … [Read more...]

Mindbenders, mazes and monarchs

You already know how awesome COSI is, right? There's a reason Parents magazine called it the #1 children's science center in the country. The normal, everyday exhibits and activities at COSI are so great, we often don't even make it to the big featured visiting attractions. Even when we're supposed to. Recently, we were invited to tour and review Mindbender Mansion and Amazing Mazes, a "wonderfully puzzling and utterly addictive experience" that combines "two exhibitions full of brainteasers … [Read more...]

Storming the castle at COSI – and a giveaway

This past weekend, Zoe and I were invited to preview the LEGO Castle Adventure at COSI, the country's #1 children's science center. It was awesome - full of cool LEGO castles, a scary LEGO dungeon, a massive LEGO mama dragon guarding her baby, fun costumes to wear and of course lots of opportunities to build with LEGOs. Zoe loved the exhibit and has wanted to build, build, build ever since. I liked that there were age-appropriate areas for the littlest LEGO builders (they get the biggest … [Read more...]

COSI is big fun for little ones

Did you know Columbus is home to the #1 children's science center in the country according to Parents magazine? On Saturday, Zoe and I were lucky to be invited to a wonderful event for parent bloggers and kids at COSI. Zoe got to spend time exploring littlekidspace, and then we attended a Workshop Sampler that was like a "best of COSI" smorgasborg of fun. Soon after Zoe was born I learned about the toddler haven that is littlekidspace: an entire area dedicated to the four and under set. … [Read more...]
